INTRODUCTION
(from our home page)
Viruses
(including worms, trojans, scripts and other malware - malicious software)
are not a problem -- UNTIL YOU GET ONE! The damage some of them can
cause is second only to a hard drive CRASH, but unlike hard drive
crashes you can eliminate the virus threats (for the most part) quite
easily.
It used to be that viruses only came in the form of
infected email attachments, but those days are long gone. Unscrupulous
hackers have found ways to transmit viruses via websites and emails that
have no attachments. So the old rule of never opening email attachments
from people you don't know offers VERY LITTLE anti-virus protection
anymore.
The Good News
The original two dominant anti-virus software
applications are still dominant today and are keeping up with the
onslaught very well.
The Bad News (the Really Bad news)
People are still
downloading and using the "trial" or "freeware"
versions of the dominant McAfee and Norton programs --- BAD, BAD, BAD...
If you are reading this and are one of
these people, it's time to take action -- quit stalling -- the software
is as cheap as it's going to get.
Some More Good News
If you want to be protected from
viruses, bust out your wallet and buy the full blown versions of
antivirus software and keep them up to date! It's that simple...
There are no alternative means of getting protection from today's nasty,
nasty viruses, worms and trojans! So, your decision is actually quite
easy to make: Spend a few bucks for full virus protection or just
continue playing with your own personal PC time bomb.

Article on Malware (malicious Software) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Malware ("malicious software") is any software developed for the sole purpose of doing harm to
computer systems. Malware classifications can be based on various
criteria: how it gets executed, how it spreads or what it does to the
infected computer.

Keep Your Anti Virus Software Updated!
Yes... we know we already said
this, but you cannot believe the number of people who turn off the
automatic virus file update mechanism (and switch to a manual mode) even
though they pay for it!
Don't use the manual mode.... set it
to update regularly! And remember,
don't get cheap with anti-virus software. It is not that expensive, and
considering the potential for a disastrous infection, it downright
cheap!
